This Thursday, July 25, 2024, a press briefing was held in Yamoussoukro on the installation of the Wifi network, by the Minister, Governor of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro, Dr Augustin THIAM. 

This Network is called WIA, that is to say the sun, which aims to transform the digital space of Yamoussoukro and democratize access to the internet.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         During his message, the Minister, Governor indicated that Yamoussoukro will be a SMART CITY which means a connected city. Thus, seven (07) sites were located in the city to implement the Wifi Network including: 
 - Habitat, 
-Assabou, 
-Dioulabougou, 
-Millionaire, 
-Scientific High School, 
-220 Accommodations 
-Grande Gare. 

In fact, for him these different neighborhoods are the most popular neighborhoods in Yamoussoukro and this network will allow them to navigate for free. He also affirmed that Yamoussoukro is the first most connected city in West Africa. 
   
Finally, the Minister and Governor indicated that through the installation of this WiFi network, the population of Yamoussoukro will be able to easily communicate with foreign countries. Which would help the population to access an almost unlimited digital library and have an open mind. In 2025, this project will extend throughout the city of Yamoussoukro.
