YAMOUSSOUKRO: INDUCTION OF THE CHIEF OF KORODOUGOU

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, the inauguration ceremony of the Chief of KORODOUGOU was held in Sopim, chaired by the Minister and Governor of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro, Dr. Augustin Thiam. This event brought together numerous administrative authorities, executives and elected officials, traditional chiefs, religious leaders, as well as women and young people who came to demonstrate their commitment to this community.
The ceremony began with an opening prayer recited by Kamagaté Siaka and the Quranic Committee, imploring divine blessing for the smooth running of the event. Afterwards, the President of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Kamagaté Laciné, accompanied by the Central President of KORODOUGOU, addressed welcoming remarks to all the guests and introduced the members of the community's board.
The solemn moment was marked by the inauguration of Mr. Youssouf Coulibaly as Chief of Korodougou. This act was carried out by the Akouès chiefs under the close supervision of Nanan Boigny N'dri III, Chief of the Akouès canton.
In his address, the Minister and Governor urged the new chief to strive for cohesion, listening, and collaboration with his peers. He also called for peace and understanding among all the sons and daughters of Côte d'Ivoire. As a sign of support for the community, he made a donation of 4,950,000 CFA francs.
This generous gesture was warmly acknowledged by the imam of the great mosque, Mr. Seydou Sylla, as well as the other imams of Yamoussoukro, who offered prayers and blessings for the Minister and Governor.
The ceremony took place in an atmosphere of brotherhood, marking an important step in the life of the KORODOUGOU community.
