YAMOUSSOUKRO: OFFICIAL PRESENTATION CEREMONY OF PEJEDEC 3 BY THE AUTONOMOUS DISTRICT OF YAMOUSSOUKRO

The presentation ceremony for the Youth Employment and Skills Development Project, Phase 3 (PEJEDEC 3) took place this Monday, March 24, 2025, in Yamoussoukro. The 5th Vice-Governor, Mr. Felix Augustin KOUASSI, represented the Minister, Governor of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro, Dr. Augustin THIAM, who had excused himself.
The Minister of Youth Promotion, Professional Integration, and Civic Service was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Ibrahim DOSSO.
Also present was Mr. TOUALY, Coordinator of the BCP-Emploi.
The authorities of the city of Yamoussoukro and Attiégouakro were also present. The Regional Prefect, Prefect of the Department of Yamoussoukro, was represented by Ms. KOUAKOU Aya Béatrice, Secretary General of the Yamoussoukro Prefecture. Mr. Willson BEUGRE, 7th Deputy Mayor, represented the Mayor of the Municipality of Yamoussoukro, and Mr. KOISSI Jean Halyman, 3rd Deputy Mayor, represented the Mayor of the Municipality of Attiégouakro.
The main objective of the ceremony was to inform partners, local authorities, the public, and the press about the actions taken by the Government of Côte d'Ivoire through the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro to address youth unemployment by providing them with opportunities for integration and the implementation of these projects with a view to encouraging their participation and support.
Following welcoming remarks from the representative of the Mayor of Yamoussoukro and opening remarks from the 5th Vice-Governor, Mr. Jean-Pierre Kouakou Assoumou, Coordinator of the Project Unit of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro, gave a presentation on the various activities of PEJEDEC 3, recalling the BCPE-DISTRICT-ARDCI agreement. He then outlined the main activities implemented by the District, the activities completed, the challenges encountered, and the various perspectives.
He also stated that the total amount of the BCPE-DISTRICT-ARDCI agreement totaled 1,219,736,467 CFA francs, including 1,036,775,997 CFA francs, or 85%, for the financial contribution of PEJEDEC and 182,960,470 CFA francs, or 15%, for the financial contribution of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro.
Following Mr. ASSOUMOU's speech, three (03) beneficiaries of the AGR, MPE, and AVEC programs each received a symbolic check for 500,000 CFA francs, 1,491,000 CFA francs, and 2,000,000 CFA francs.
Speaking, the representative of the Minister of Youth Promotion, Professional Integration, and Civic Service congratulated these young beneficiaries for their commitment and dedication. He then urged them to be witnesses, even ambassadors, to other young people in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Government's efforts to integrate young people into the socio-professional fabric.
He stated that, in light of the success achieved within the framework of the PSGOUV, the President of the Republic has reaffirmed his commitment to young people by making the cause of youth a national priority.
To close the PEJEDEC 3 presentation ceremony, the 5th Vice-Governor, Mr. Félix Augustin KOUASSI, representing the Minister, Governor, expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic for the wise idea of ​​creating a Ministry specifically dedicated to solving the problem of youth employment. Then, he praised Minister Mamadou TOURE for the important work carried out, contributing to the transformation of the social and professional landscape of our youth. He congratulated and thanked all the stakeholders of PEJEDEC 3, led by the World Bank Group through its subsidiary International Development Association (IDA).
