                YAMOUSSOUKRO: INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF THE PROFESSIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
With a view to rethinking and revaluing technical education, vocational training, and apprenticeships in order to support socioeconomic development and contribute to the rapid emergence of Côte d'Ivoire, the official inauguration ceremony of the Yamoussoukro Vocational High School was held on Friday, October 3, 2025, in Djahabo, opposite the Félix Houphouët-Boigny National Polytechnic Institute (INPHB).
The ceremony was attended by the Minister and Governor of the Yamoussoukro Autonomous District, Dr. Augustin Thiam, as well as numerous administrative, political, religious, and traditional figures. Teachers, parents, students, and pupils also participated.
The event began with the playing of the national anthem, followed by a traditional libation performed by Nanan Kouakou, Chief of the village of Djahakro, accompanied by the Land Chief, Nanan Kouamé Marc. In his welcoming address, the Mayor of Yamoussoukro, Mr. Kouamé Kouassi Patrice, welcomed the presence of the authorities and expressed his satisfaction with the completion of this major project.
Following him, the Director General of the National Bureau of Technical Studies and Development (BNETD), Mr. Coulibaly Kinapara, presented the features and advantages of the new high school. He indicated that the institution comprises 18 buildings, already accommodating 500 students and offering several training programs. He also noted that construction work took place over a period of three years.
Speaking, the Minister and Governor of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro, Dr. Augustin Thiam, emphasized that the inauguration of this high school is not just the opening of a school, but also the establishment of a genuine lever for development, a talent pool, and a concrete response to the challenge of decent and sustainable youth employment. He urged the students to make this place a space of discipline, work, and excellence, while expressing his gratitude to the President of the Republic for his visionary leadership, which places knowledge at the heart of the social project.
In his speech, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Diarrassouba, speaking on behalf of the people of Yamoussoukro, expressed the joy, gratitude, and commitment of the entire community to this major investment in youth.
Finally, the Prime Minister, Mr. Robert Beugré Mambé, expressed his deep gratitude to all those who worked to build and equip this high school. He encouraged the students to take seriously the training they will receive, as a guarantee of their future and the country's development.
The ceremony concluded with a guided tour of the vocational high school's various facilities
