SARA 2025

SARA 2025:

The Yamoussoukro Autonomous District is actively participating in the 7th edition of the International Agriculture and Animal Resources Exhibition (SARA), which took place at the Port-Bouet Exhibition Center in Abidjan, from May 23 to June 1, 2025.

The Yamoussoukro Autonomous District's participation in this 7th edition of SARA represents a major opportunity for the District, given the exceptional opportunities this platform offers in terms of promotional space. As a territorial entity with enormous agricultural potential, the Yamoussoukro Autonomous District needs to broaden its horizons by attracting partners to increase its investments in agriculture in order to effectively combat poverty in rural areas.

On May 25, 2025, at the SARA, which hosts nearly 1,000 exhibitors with projects and innovations, the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro and the Kingdom of the Netherlands signed two new agreements to boost local agriculture and create opportunities for young people and women.

This high-level meeting took place in the presence of the Minister and Governor of Yamoussoukro, Dr. Augustin Thiam, who received the Dutch delegation, including Deputy Minister of Agriculture Marten Van Berg, his Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, Jorom Kendheruis, and several business leaders.
The documents in this memorandum of understanding refer to the Côte d'Ivoire Agricultural Emergency Project (PUA-CI) and the Agricultural Sector Development Support Program (PADFA), both implemented with support from the Resilience Program and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

The project aims to train 1,500 young people and women in modern and sustainable agriculture. The meeting culminated in a field visit to the Toumbokro incubator center (Yamoussoukro).

Back at the SARA Exhibition Center, the stand of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro, highlighting its activities, recorded the visit of eminent personalities, starting with its first Head, the Minister, Governor Doctor Augustin THIAM, then the Minister Governor of the Autonomous District of Savanes, General ISSA COULIBALY, the Minister of State, Special Advisor to the President of the Republic and President of the Regional Council of Tonkpi Doctor Abdallah Albert Mabri TOIKEUSSE, the wife of the Minister Governor of the Autonomous District of Denguélé Gahoussou TOURE, Minister Jean-Louis BILLON, a delegation from the Ministry of the Interior composed of ambassadors, etc.
SARA 2025, during its ten days of exhibitions, welcomed thousands of visitors. The theme was "What agri-food processing systems for food sovereignty in Africa?" and this year's guest of honor was the People's Republic of China. This partner country plans, through agreements, to help Côte d'Ivoire achieve food self-sufficiency. Specifically, the partners intend to facilitate exchanges between experts, researchers, and policymakers and share knowledge, experiences, and best practices in agricultural development.
In light of all the above, we can safely say that this edition of SARA was a success.
