DELIVERY OF SCHOOL KITS BY THE AUTONOMOUS DISTRICT OF YAMOUSSOUKRO

YAMOUSSOUKRO / PRESENTATION OF SCHOOL KITS, LITERACY KITS, TABLES, BENCHES, AND OFFICE FURNITURE BY THE AUTONOMOUS DISTRICT OF YAMOUSSOUKRO TO THE VALUE OF 92,300,000 FCFA

"Education is the key that opens the doors to development and the future of nations." It is in this spirit that the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro, under the leadership of its Minister and Governor, Dr. Augustin Thiam, held a major presentation of school kits, literacy kits, tables, benches, and office furniture on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
The ceremony, held at the Lycée Mamie Adjoua in Yamoussoukro, aimed to strengthen children's education, reduce inequalities, and improve learning conditions for students and working conditions for teachers.
It brought together many dignitaries: members of the District Council, Headmasters and Deputy Headmasters, traditional leaders, religious leaders, teachers, parents, and students.
The event began with Christian and Muslim prayers led by Mr. Keaseiboh, Secretary General of the Pastors of Yamoussoukro, and Mr. Hamidou Sylla, representative of the Central Imam of the Great Mosque, respectively. Students from the Lycée Mamie Adjoua then performed the national anthem, a performance rewarded by a donation of 200,000 CFA francs from the Minister and Governor.
In her welcoming remarks, Ms. Diarra née Mariam Koné, Headmaster of the Lycée, expressed her gratitude for this gesture. Mr. Kouadio Raphaël, Director of the Minister's Office, then clarified that these donations are not just about materials, but also reflect the District's commitment to supporting education. This year, 1,000 school kits, 300 literacy kits, 1,475 desks and 35 desks were distributed.On behalf of the Minister and Governor, Mr. Kouassi Anicet Désiré, Director General of Administration, expressed his gratitude to the educational community, and particularly to Mr. Vazoumanan Cissé, Regional Director of National Education and Literacy, for the remarkable work accomplished despite the challenges. He also expressed his appreciation to Ms. Mariatou Koné, Minister of National Education and Literacy. According to him, the total value of these donations is estimated at 92,300,000 CFA francs.
Following the presentations, the kits were symbolically presented by the Minister and Governor, Dr. Augustin Thiam, accompanied by several dignitaries.
On behalf of the beneficiary students, Ms. Kouassi Ange Carène expressed her classmates' gratitude to the Minister and Governor, emphasizing that this gesture brings them joy and encourages them to redouble their efforts. The ceremony ended in a friendly atmosphere with a cocktail.
