DONATION OF FOOD TO THE CATHOLIC CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY FOR LENT 2025

At the St Augustine Cathedral of Yamoussoukro, Mr. Augustin Félix KOUASSI, 5th Vice-Governor representing the Minister, Governor of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro, Doctor Augustin THIAM, handed over, on behalf of the Minister, Governor, food to the Catholic Christian Community of the Diocese of Yamoussoukro, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. This gesture was made to the Catholic men of God, with a view to providing support, in this month of Lent, to the said community. At this donation ceremony, were present, on behalf of the District, the 1st Vice-Governor, Mrs. Mariam BAMBA, the Acting Director of Cabinet, Mr. Kouadio Raphael, the Director General of Administration, Mr. Désirée Anicet KOUASSI as well as other members of the District. The delegation of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro was received by the representative of the Bishop, Father Jacques Djetti Secretary of the diocesan curia and Father Alphonse N'Guessan Priest of the Cathedral St Augustine of Yamoussoukro.
The priests asked their hosts for news and the Acting Director of Cabinet, Mr. Kouadio Raphael, spokesperson for the delegation, said that they were there on behalf of the Minister, Governor to deliver food to the entire Catholic Christian Community for the period of Lent which has just begun this Ash Wednesday. Mr. Augustin Félix KOUASSI, 5th Vice-Governor also stated that the Minister, Governor had wanted to be present but he had an impediment at the last minute. 
Concerning the food, there were 5 Tons of Rice, 2.5 Tons of Sugar, 36 Cartons of Oil, 50 Cartons of Spaghetti, 35 Cartons of Top Chef Tomato, 60 Cartons of Tuna Cans, 43 Cartons of QAKER, 20 Cartons of Lyptons, 25 packs of Bonnet Rouge Milk, for a total of 50 Million FCFA. The Bishop's representative, Father Jacques Djetti thanked the entire delegation present and the Minister, Governor, Doctor Augustin THIAM, for this remarkable gesture of charity.
To conclude the donation ceremony, the Bishop's representative gave his blessing to all the members of the Yamoussoukro Autonomous District, without forgetting the Minister Governor, Doctor Augustin THIAM.
